Beermat
Flip the Beermat
The simplest and most chaotic event. Hang a beermat over the edge of the table and flip it into the air — catch it cleanly to score. Pure coordination, nerves, and pub skill.
Setup
- Each player sits or stands at the edge of a table.
- Place a beermat so it overhangs the table edge by about half its width.
How to flip
- With your dominant hand held flat, palm up, strike upward on the overhanging part of the beermat to flip it into the air.
- Catch the beermat cleanly between your fingers — one clean grab, no juggling or trapping against your body.
The contest
- Players start with 1 beermat. Each round you get 3 attempts to flip and catch your stack.
- Catch on any of your 3 attempts and you progress to the next round. Add one more beermat to the stack each round — round 2 is 2 beermats, round 3 is 3, and so on.
- Fail all 3 attempts and you're eliminated. Your score is the highest stack you successfully caught.
Finishing order
- Players are ranked by the highest stack they successfully flipped and caught.
- If players are tied on the same number, they have a sudden-death flip-off at that stack size until one catches and the other doesn't.
